Men's Golf Takes Part in the First Round of O'Briant-Jensen Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Randolph-Macon men's golf is in action for the first time since its 19th place finish at the GolfWeek October Classic two weeks ago, taking part in the first round of the O'Briant-Jensen Invitational in Greensboro, North Carolina. 

The tournament field is represented by 12 programs that are ranked in the top-50 in the nation. The Yellow Jackets had five athletes in action in the field, four a part of a team scoring system and one member of the team competing as an individual. 

Charlie Wilkerson (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) shot a +3 (39) on the front nine to position himself in great position for the final nine holes. The sophomore ended the round at +7 (78) with 11 pars and a birdie on the first hole. Wilkerson sits in 42nd out of 109 individual scores.  

Kole Kohut (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) rounded out the group on day one with a +8 (79). The sophomore finished with the most birdies on the team with three overall, going along with six pars. Kohut is currently 48th out of 109 individual scores. 

Luke Richardson (Davidsonville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) recorded a +13 (84) in the 18-hole round for the Yellow Jackets. The senior had pars on seven holes and added a birdie on the seventh hole. 

Will Johnson (Blackstone, Va./Kenston Forest School) finished his opening round with a +15 (86) in 18 holes. The freshman ended the day with a birdie and pars on six holes for the Yellow Jackets. Michael Schaal (Chapel Hill, N.C./Carolina Friends) ended his first round with pars on seven holes and also posted a score of +15 (86).
