ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team defeated Shenandoah 2-0 on Wednesday night in an ODAC matchup that had major postseason implications.

How it Happened
	- RMC opened the scoring early in the first half, just three minutes into the match. Kevin Sprince (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) booted home a corner kick from Davian Jackson (Newport News, Va./ Menchville), lifting the Yellow Jackets to a 1-0 lead.
- In the 29th minute, Davian Jackson had an opportunity to double the RMC lead but the Hornets' goalkeeper Cameron Vester made the save. RMC had two more opportunities before heading into the break from Andrew Hogan (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) and Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) but they could not convert and head into halftime leading 1-0.
- SU came out of the break with more offensive momentum, recording five shots in the first 20 minutes of the half. Two of the shots were on frame but Ethan Chenoweth (Newport News, Va./ Warwick) made the saves, keeping the Yellow Jackets' lead intact.
- In the 76th minute, RMC doubled its lead on a combination play from Grayson Woods (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./ Menchville), which connected with Jayden Walker (Suffolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate), who used his left foot to shoot around Vester. In the final 14 minutes of the match, Randolph-Macon closed out the shutout with great play from its midfield and backline, earning the 2-0 victory over SU.  
Inside the Numbers
	- Shenandoah outshot Randolph-Macon 19-9 overall and both teams were dead even in shots on goal, 4-4.
- The Yellow Jackets held an advantage in corner kicks, recording seven during the match, while the Hornets tallied four.
- Sprince and Walker each recorded a goal in tonight's match.
- Davian Jackson, Damien Jackson and Woods recorded the Yellow Jackets' three assists.
- Woods recorded his first assist of the season, bringing him to 13 total points this year.
- Chenoweth recorded his seventh shutout of the season tonight, while recording four saves.
