FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's swimming team won seven total events in a 131-131 tie to Mary Washington in its first dual meet of the 2025-2026 season.   

Individual Winners

• Hannah Loyd (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) finished with the top spot in the 1000-yard Free in 11:25.35.
• Caroline Russell (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) took home the victory in the 200-yard Free with a time of 2:02.40 seconds.
• Sophie Sullivan (Richmond, Va./Saint Catherine's) gave the Yellow Jackets nine points with her win in the 50-yard Free, with a time of 25.17 seconds. 
• Izzie Check (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton) won the 100-yard Free in 55.94 seconds, beating an Eagles swimmer by .02 seconds. 
• Anna Sprott (Hampton, Va./Peninsula Catholic) finished with the top spot in the 100 Breast in 1:10.49.
• Sullivan won the 50 Fly in 26.93 seconds, beating a Mary Washington swimmer by .05 seconds.
• Check finished with the top spot in the 200-yard Medley in 2:15.34.  

Relay Highlights

• The 200 Medley relay team of Kelsey James (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial), Sprott, Madi Reed (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) and Sullivan placed second in the event with a time of 1:52.12. 
• The 200 Free relay team of James, Teaghan McNeill (Knightdale, N.C./Enloe), Reese Painter (Houston, Texas/Duchesne Academy of Sacred Heart) and Sullivan finished in 1:41.14, placing second in the event.

Individual Highlights

• Brooklyn DeCann (Huntersville, N.C./Lincoln Charter) in the 1000 Free, placed third at 11:38.85 seconds. 
• Maryn Feehs (Lorton, Va./South County) added a third-place finish in the 200-yard Free in 2:06.41, adding three more points to the team's overall score. 
• James placed second in the 50 Back with a time of 28.76, giving the Lemon and Black four points.
• Sprott and McNeill finished second and third in the 50 Breast with times of 32.33 and 33.01 seconds. 
• Annika Rogerson (Goochland, Va./Goochland) had a second-place finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:02.14. 
• James placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.99 seconds, grabbing four points. 
• McNeill impressed in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:12.63 to place second overall. 
• Russell and Decan swam in the 500 Free, placing Second and third in 5:35.49 and 5:42.28.
• Reed placed third in the 50 Fly, earning three points for the team, finishing with a time of 27.17 seconds.
• Sprott impressed in the 200 Medley with a time of 2:19.28 to place third overall.
