DESTIN, Fla. - Randolph-Macon women's golf finished strong in the final round of the GolfWeek October Classic, finishing second out of the 24 team field.
The Yellow Jackets set the program record for lowest score in one round by shooting a 289 (+1) in the final round. The team also set a new 54-hole record with the final team score of 893 (+29). The team also led the entire field in birdies with 48 in three rounds, second most was Williams College with 38.
Morgan Mussatt (Henrico, Va./Mills Godwin) led the team through the tournament, recording a tournament score of +5 (221) to place seventh out of field of 120. The junior shot even par (72) in the final round with four birdies to highlight her day.
Lilly Hall (Yorktown, Va./Liberty University Online Academy) had an impressive performance to close out the tournament, scoring a bogey free front nine with two birdies. The sophomore closed out the round at even par (72), adding a birdie on the back nine. Hall finished her three round tournament with an overall score of +7 (223), placing 11th overall.
Alexis Haller (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School) had the strongest round of the group in the third round, firing a -1 (71). The junior scored a bogey free front nine with four birdies, scoring a -4 (32). Haller ends her tournament with an overall score of +8 (224), placing 13th.
Grace Anne Haggerty (Glen Allen, Va./St. Catherine's) finished her final round with a score of +2 (74), totaling two birdies and pars on 12 holes. The freshman ended her three day tournament with an overall score of +10 (226) to finish 18th overall.
Elli Flinchum (Summerfield, N.C./Rockingham County) completed her round with a score of +11 (83), adding three birdies and six pars. The senior ended the tournament with a three round score card of +30 (246).
