ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon men's swimming won seven different events in its first meet of the new year with Marymount (Va.), the Saints would take home the narrow 105-100 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Individual Winners
- Alex Richardson (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) won the 200 yard butterfly with an overall time of 2:03.50. The junior also took home the win in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:06.84.
- Will Edwards (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) took home the win in the 100 yard butterfly in 58.89 seconds. The sophomore also won the 100 yard breaststroke with a clocked time of 1:07.30.
- Aidan Campbell (Newport News, Va./Warwick) finished with the top spot in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:04.14 to give nine points to the Yellow Jackets.
- Ben Sallade (Bristow, Va./Patriot) bested teammate Ryan Cherry (Carrolton, Va./Hampton Roads Academy) in the 100 yard backstroke with a clocked time of 1:00.45.
- Elliott Kassab (Richmond, Va./New Community School) received a huge win in the 200 yard breaststroke, defeating a Marymount swimmer by just one second at 2:16.92.
Relay Winners
- The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Ben Pastva (Fairfax, Va./Robinson), Evan Fannin (Hayes, Va./Christchurch), James Skarbek (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) and Campbell finished on-top with an overall time of 1:29.81.
Individual Highlights
- Richardson followed up his two top-place finishes with a second place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:31.81.
- Pastva received four points for the Yellow Jackets in the 50 yard freestyle, placing second in 22.06 seconds. The senior also was the runner-up in the 100 yard freestyle in 49.95 seconds.
