ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team fell in its home opening match of the fall season, losing 7-0 to Southern Virginia at the Banks Tennis Center.

Doubles:
The Yellow Jackets lost the top two doubles lines and fell in a closely contested third doubles match, giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.
Alex Jordan (Glen Allen, Va./Patrick Henry) and
Cameron Jennings (Spotsylvania, Va./Massaponax) were tied at 3-3, before the Knights won three in a row to win 6-3.
Singles:
In singles,
Drew Crotts (Cramerton, N.C./Stuart W. Cramer) played close in second singles after losing set one 6-1. The freshman tried to force a third set, but ultimately fell in a close second set 6-3.
Karsten Palmer (Swepsonville, N.C./River Mill) started third singles with a narrow 6-4 defeat and Trent McBride finished the second set with a convincing win for Southern Virginia.
Evan Holzmacher (Chesterfield, Va./Manchester) forced the first set in fifth singles to a seventh point that was won by Kingston Traejen and Holzmacher ended up falling in straight sets.
