ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team fell short against Roanoke in an home matchup 7-2 in ODAC action on Wednesday afternoon at the Banks Tennis Center.
The Yellow Jackets started the match with two close games in first and second doubles that both ended with a close 8-6 score line. Roanoke closed out doubles with a victory in third doubles to take all three matches.
In singles, Randolph-Macon got two points with wins by
Max Hammock (Vienna, Va./James Madison) in first singles and
Max Doyle (Alexandria, Va./St. John's College (D.C)) in third singles.
Braxton Fagan (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) won an intense second set to force a third and deciding set in second singles but ultimately fell 10-8. The Maroons were able to get ahead early in each of the other match-ups to take home the 8-1 victory.
