SAVANNAH, Ga. – Freshman
Morgan Mussatt (Henrico, Va./Mills Godwin) won a share of the individual title at the Savannah Invitational, finishing two-under for the tournament. The Yellow Jackets, as a team, finished 11
th overall (+58 to par) in a packed field.
Mussatt got on a roll on the back nine, totaling four birdies in a five-hole span to return to the top spot on the leaderboard. Her even-par, 72, comes one day after she tied the program record with a two-under, 70, on day one.
Alexis Haller (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School) slotted in the top-30 individually with an 82 (+10), following up her 74 from yesterday. Haller rolled on the back nine, shooting +1.
Elli Flinchum (Summerfield, N.C./Rockingham County) also turned in an 82 (+10) to place 43
rd individually after totaling six pars on the back nine.
Emma Bonovitch (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) improved by 14 strokes from yesterday with an 85 (+13) today, including two birdies on the back nine.
Mary Kathryn Topping (Midlothian, Va./Maggie Walker Governor's School) finished the day with a 91 (+19) and
Vyvy Tran (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) capped off the tournament shooting +42 today.
Up next, the Yellow Jackets will play in the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational on March 22-24 in Jekyll Island, Ga.
