Jane Elkins (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton) and
Marisa Ziegler (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) combined for 34 points and 26 rebounds as Randolph-Macon took home the senior day victory, while clinching the number three seed in the ODAC tournament with a win over Ferrum 58-44.

How it Happened
- In the first period, Randolph-Macon outscored the Panthers 17-2 over the course of the first ten minutes. The Yellow Jackets shot 6-of-11 (.545) percent from the field in those ten minutes, freshman guard Sam Smith (Chesterfield, Va./St. Gertrudes) led the way with eight points. Juliana Park (Fairfax Station, Va./Davidson Day) added four points to the offensive explosion for the Lemon and Black. Ferrum only managed to make one field goal in the period, shooting 1-of-7 overall.
- Ferrum began the second period on a 7-0 run that lasted until the 8:14 mark of the period, Trina Lewis and Allyson Cassell were the offensive highlights during the run, as the Panthers cut the deficit to 17-9. Ziegler started her scoring with back-to-back three balls to stop the bleeding, Park added a lay-up to have Randolph-Macon answer with an 8-0 run. The Yellow Jackets ended the period, outscoring Ferrum 17-16, with help from 11 points by Ziegler in the period, to give the Yellow Jackets a 34-18 lead at halftime.
- In the third period, Randolph-Macon used down low pressure from Elkins to power a 15-9 win in the period. Elkins led the way with six points and freshman Bella Bruce (Herndon, Va./Westfield) lended a hand with five points of her own. The Yellow Jackets kept their strong hold on the lead and took a 49-27 advantage into the final ten minutes.
- The Panthers finally found their footing offensively in the fourth period, but it was too late. Ferrum shot 7-of-11 from the field to outscore the Lemon and Black 17-9. Elkins and Ziegler accounted for the nine points for RMC in the period. Randolph-Macon would salt away a 58-44 victory to send out the 2024 class in style.
Inside the Numbers
- Randolph-Macon shot 44.2% from the floor, as Ferrum knocked down 38.1% of their shots.
- The Yellow Jackets outrebounded Panthers 33-to-24.
- Elkins had a career day for the Yellow Jackets. The sophomore had career highs in rebounds with 22 and in assists with five. The Virginia native recorded her fifteenth double-double of the season as she added 18 points and four steals to her credit and led the team in both categories.
- Ziegler had an impressive day, shooting 4-of-5 from three point range, which the four made threes is a career high. The juniors' 16 points in the game ties her career high. The Maryland native also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals to finish the game.
- Bruce and Smith both scored eight points in the game and both knocked down two three-pointers.
