ARLINGTON, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's swimming team fell to Marymount (Va.) to begin the new year, by a score of 143-62 on Friday afternoon. 

Individual Highlights

• Alex Richardson (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) turned in an impressive afternoon for the Yellow Jackets swimming in multiple events. The sophomore swam the 200 yard butterfly in 2:00.94 to finish second and placed second in the 500 yard freestyle with the time of 1:50.18. He also was the opening leg on the 200 freestyle relay team that placed the top spot. The Florida native accumulated 20 points between all three events to turn in yet another great meet.   
• Ben Pastva (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.78 seconds. The senior also swam on the 200 freestyle relay team that finished first, as Pastva was the third of four legs in the event. 
• Sebastian Florez (Richmond, Va./JR Tucker) scored three points in the 1000 freestyle and turned in a time of 11:05.46 and placed third overall in the event. 
• Evan Fannin (Hayes, Va./Christchurch) competed in the 100 butterfly and finished third overall in a time of 56.34 seconds.

Relay Highlights 

• The 200 freestyle relay team of Richardson, Fannin, Pastva and Aidan Campbell (Newport News, Va./Warwick) took the top spot with a time of 1:30.45. 
• The 200 medley relay team of Fannin, Zack Hubbard (Stafford, Va./North Stafford), Kevin Williams (RIchmond, Va./Thomas Jefferson) and Matthew Appleton (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) placed third with a time of 1:44.56 to complete the meet with two more points.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 6 for a home contest against conference rival Virginia Wesleyan University at 1:00 p.m.
