LEXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team rolled through day one at Washington and Lee on Friday, downing Maryville and Southern Virginia in straight sets to sweep the day.

How it Happened vs Maryville:
- The Yellow Jackets stormed out to an early lead in the first set, building up a 13-5 advantage. RMC continued to dominate through the rest of the opening stanza, never allowing the Scots to make it close, taking set one 25-14.
- For a majority of the second set, the two sides were close, with RMC's 16-12 lead being the largest until the end when the Yellow Jackets won six of the last eight points to end the set, ultimately winning 25-18 and taking a commanding two-set lead.
- The third set was similar to the first as Randolph-Macon pushed out to an early lead and held it. Maryville was able to cut the deficit to four at 20-16 late in the set, but five of the last seven points went to RMC as they wrapped up the sweep.
By the Numbers vs Maryville:
- Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII) led the charge for RMC with 13 kills on a .313 hitting percentage. She also totaled four service aces and 11 digs.
- Both Milly Mach (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) and Kaitlyn Kaplan (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) had 11 assists which was good for the team lead. Kaplan added eight digs to her credit.
- Jordynn Little (Apex, N.C./Green Level) had a staggering six service aces to go with her four digs and a pair of kills in the match.
- Megan Bost (Angier, N.C./West Johnston) had eight kills, second most by a Yellow Jackets player in the match.
How it Happened vs SVU:
- The Knights held a 9-6 lead in the first set before a kill by Mia Zazzero (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names) ignited a 7-0 run to give the Yellow Jackets a 13-9 lead which they did not surrender for the remaining of the set. SVU brought it within one at 20-19 and then RMC posted five straight points to win the set, 25-19.
- Multiple times in the second set, the Yellow Jackets went on a run and was answered by SVU going on a run of their own. Late in the set, SVU turned a 19-12 deficit into a 19-18 deficit to get back in the set, but Randolph-Macon held on for a 25-22 set two win.
- It was all RMC in the third set, stretching out to an early 12-5 lead that allowed the Lemon and Black to cruise to a sweep over SVU to go 2-0 on the day.
By the Numbers vs SVU:
- Grace Parker had 13 kills in the second straight match, leading the Yellow Jackets. She also added four block assists at the net.
- Mia Zazzero was perfect, having four kills on exactly four swings while also having four block assists.
- Milly Mach had 12 assists which was good for the team-lead. She had one more than Kaitlyn Kaplan who had 11 for the second consecutive match.
- Maddy DeCandido (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) had a team-best 14 digs and was the only player in double-figures.
