ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team rallied late in the second half, but came up short in a physical battle with visiting Salisbury University 2-1, at Nunnally Field.

How it Happened
- The Yellow Jackets had its first chance to take the lead in the seventh minute, as Bryce Kuberek (King George, Va./King George) found himself with the ball right in front of the Salisbury goal-keeper. The Sophomore missed the goal just to the left and right after Chazz Jones (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) put a shot on goal, but it was stopped by the Sea Gulls Josh Wendel.
- Salisbury took the lead in the 13th minute as Gavin Miller scored on a David Peters give-and-go pass for the first goal of the game.
- The Sea Gulls looked to extend their lead throughout the first half, but give credit to RMC's defensive line of Kevin Sprince (Richmond, Va./Deep Run), Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville), Grant Counts (Odenton, Md./St. Mary's), Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton), Christian Gordinier (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) and Kuberek to hold the deficit to 1-0 at the halftime break.
- Salisbury extended its lead in the 73rd minute, as Ethan Dolezal drove his way into the Randolph-Macon box, passed it off to Dale Gordon and he found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
- The Lemon and Black did not go away quietly, as Kodi Tannor (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) knocked in a goal in the 83rd minute, that was set up by Jake Hall (Mount Airy, Ga./Tallulah Falls School).
- The Yellow Jackets tried to play fast in the final seven minutes, but the Sea Gulls defense held tough to block a possible late second half comeback by RMC, as Salisbury took home the victory 2-1.
