ROANOKE, Va. -- The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team beat Roanoke College on Thursday afternoon, 7-2. The Yellow Jackets took two of three doubles matches and led 2-1 heading into singles. Max Hammock (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and Braxton Fagan (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) cruised to a 8-1 victory at second doubles. In singles play, three matches went the distance to third set, 10 point tiebreakers with RMC winning two of them. Max Doyle (Alexandria, Va./St. John's College) won 6-2,5-7 10-8 at fourth singles. Mitchell Herman (Fairfax, Va./Flint Hill) prevailed 1-6,6-4, 11-9 at fifth singles. That left the score at 7-2, leaving the Yellow Jackets at 7-4 overall, and 3-4 in ODAC play. The men's team takes on ODAC rival Shenandoah University on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Winchester, Va.
