ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team fell to Lynchburg University Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets couldn't pull out any of the doubles matches and found themselves in a 3-0 hole heading into singles play.
Junior Max Hammock (Vienna, Va./James Madison) gutted out a three-set victory at #2 Singles to get RMC on the board, winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. The win leaves Hammock at 8-1 on the season.
Senior Max Presley (Hilton Head, S.C./Goochland) lost narrowly at #6 Singles in a third-set tiebreaker 2-6, 6-4, 5-10. That left the final score at 8-1, leaving the Yellow Jackets at 6-3 overall and 2-2 in ODAC play.
The RMC men's team takes on ODAC rival Guilford College on Sunday, April 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Banks Tennis Center.
