Box Score SALEM, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's basketball team took the second seed into the ODAC tournament in Salem on Thursday to battle Shenandoah in the Quarterfinals. The Hornets outlasted the Yellow Jackets in a back-and-forth game, 66-57, to advance to the semifinals.

How it Happened:
- Defenses took control in the opening minutes, as Shenandoah opened the scoring two minutes into the game. Junior Catherine Kagey began her impressive performance with a three-point play for RMC's first points of the game. Senior Haley Pasqualone (Purcellville, Va./Loudon Valley) hit two threes to jumpstart RMC to a big lead, eventually leading 19-7 after one quarter.
- Shenandoah slowly made its way back into the game, eventually tying the game at 27 after an 18-6 run through the first eight minutes of the half. A Catherine Kagey layup ended a three-minute scoring drought, but Shenandoah tied it again on a buzzer-beating put back to make it 29-29 at half.
- SU continued their strong stretch through a majority of the third, before RMC scored the final six points of the quarter including two free throws in the final seconds by senior Devan Conrad (Parkville, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) as the Yellow Jackets took the lead 41-39 into the final frame.
- The Yellow Jackets sprinted out to a 45-39 lead in the opening moments of the final quarter, but Shenandoah went on a 15-2 run to take control of the game. RMC clawed their way back, but the Hornets went 8-8 from the charity stripe in the final two minutes to seal the win, 66-57.
By the Numbers:
- RMC was led by Catherine Kagey, posting 21 points and 15 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.
- Freshman Jane Elkins (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton) also had a double-double, with 11 points and 12 rebounds on the night.
- The Lemon and Black had 53 rebounds on the night tying a season-high and the third time having 50+ rebounds in a game this season. RMC won the advantage on the boards by 10, 53-43, including 21-8 on the offensive glass.
- RMC forced 13 turnovers, and had 17 points off those turnovers, while only turning the ball over 11 times and allowing eight points off turnovers.
