ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's swimming team lost in a heartbreaker to visiting St. Mary's College of (Md.) 103-102 on a Friday afternoon.
Jacob Batson (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) placed first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:00.24. The freshman had a fifth placed finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.63 to grab a point for Randolph-Macon.
Sebastian Florez (Richmond, Va./JR Tucker) was a first place finisher in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 59.00 seconds. The sophomore also finished third in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:23.78 to end the night.Â
Aidan Campbell (Newport News, Va./Warwick) had an impressive finish in the 200 IM finishing first with a time of 2:05.28.Â
Carter Bingman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) and
Matthew Romero (La Plata, Md./La Plata) both swam in the 1000 yard freestyle to take third and fourth place with times of 11:36.77 and 11:45.98.
Alex Richardson (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) turned in an impressive afternoon for the Yellow Jackets swimming in multiple events. The sophomore swam the 200 yard freestyle in 1:51.14 to finish second. He also swam in the 200 IM to also place second 2:06.46.
