ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team hosted Bridgewater for a pivotal midweek conference matchup on Wednesday evening.
Chazz Jones (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) scored both goals for the Yellow Jackets, as they shutout Bridgewater 2-0.

How it Happened
- Randolph-Macon dodged disaster in the 11th minute, as the Yellow Jackets kicked it back to its own goal and Niklas Hatchett had an open shot. Adam Braithwaite (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) corralled it for his first save of the game.
- Kodi Tannor (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) streaked down the field, beat his defender and found Jones who finished it past Charles Schweinefuss to take a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute.
- The Yellow Jackets turned up the pressure, looking to double its lead in the latter half of the first half. Dylan Matheny (Greensboro, N.C./Clover Hill) and Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) had great looks but the Eagles defense stood tough.
- The defensive back line of Trevor Moyer (Hampton, Va./Kecoughton), Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville), Bryce Kuberek (King George, King George), and Eubank made huge stands in the Bridgewater offensive half to conserve the lead into the halftime break.
- Randolph-Macon turned up the pressure for the first half of the second half. Zach Richards (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown), Tannor and Matheny made numerous runs at the goal. The Eagles defense held their own to keep the RMC lead at 1-0.
- Jones knocked in his second goal of the game in the 72nd minute to double the Yellow Jacket lead as Austin Fattizzi (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) was credited with an assist.
Inside the Numbers
- Bridgewater outshot the Yellow Jackets nine to seven. The Yellow Jackets put two shots on frame and both resulted in goals, BC managed to get three on frame.
- Randolph-Macon had six corner opportunities, as Bridgewater had three corner opportunities.
- Bogue Cummings (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) played a huge part in the RMC success tonight on both ends of the field.
- Jones recorded his second career multi-goal game, accounting for both goals for the Lemon and Black.
- Braithwaite made three saves in 90 minutes.
