ASHLAND, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team shined in its third affair of the Fall season Sunday, cruising to a 9-0 sweep of visiting Hood at the Banks Tennis Center.

Randolph-Macon jumped out to the quick 3-0 lead after taking each of the three doubles points in the new format adopted this season. Lucas Dunlop and Max Hammock looked strong at No. 1 doubles, playing to an 8-2 decision. Max Doyle and Mitchell Herman looked just as good at the second doubles flight, playing to an 8-1 decision.

Dunlop looked good at No. 1 singles as well, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 decision for the fourth tally of the match and just one shy of clinching. Hammock played the second singles flight and found a 6-0, 6-2. Doyle continued to look good as well on the third singles court, playing to a perfect 6-0, 6-0 and Herman joined him with a 6-0, 6-1 result at No. 4 singles. Max Presley also found a perfect 6-0, 6-0 result at the fifth singles flight and William Adair picked up a forfeit at the final flight to complete the 9-0 sweep.

Head Coach Charles Gray and his bunch will be back on the courts after a near month off Saturday, October 22 as they welcome Catholic to the Banks Tennis Courts. The action is set for a 1:00 p.m. start, matching the women's team.
