How It Happened
- Because of tournament play, the match was played until the first team reached five. Max Hammock (So., Vienna, Va. / James Madison) and Braxton Fagan (Fr., Glen Allen, Va. / Deep Run) gave the Lemon and Black their best chance to score a point as they battled Barret Foster and Tyler Brice of Hampden-Sydney at first doubles. It was as close as it could be without needing a tiebreaker, but Hammock and Fagan were on the short end of an 8-6 decision.
- Second and third doubles both had difficult contests. Ryan Aud (Sr., Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) and Max Doyle (So., Alexandria, Va. / St. John's College) were defeated by Matt Kendrick and Taylor Fox at seconds, while Max Presley (Sr., Hilton Head, S.C. / Goochland) and Mitchall Herman (Fr., Fairfax, Va. / Flint Hill) were downed by Henry Singleton and John Kendrick. Both scores were 8-1.
- The Tigers were able to finish the match after two singles matches. Aud was defeated by Brice 6-0, 6-2 at second singles. Herman fell to John Kendrick in a pair of 6-1 sets.
