(ASHLAND, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team had a tough battle to conclude the regular season as it took on Virginia Wesleyan in rescheduled contest from earlier in the month. The Yellow Jackets were shutout by the Marlins, but did have a couple close contests that went down to the wire.

How It Happened
- The Yellow Jackets faced an early deficit after a sweep in doubles play. First and second doubles teams were defeated 8-3, while thirds took an 8-0 defeat.
- While singles play didn't fare well with the results, Braxton Fagan (Fr., Glen Allen, Va. / Deep Run) and Max Doyle (So., Alexandria, Va. / St. John's College) both came close to scoring a point. Fagan started off third singles with a 6-2 win, but fell 7-6 in the second set which forced a super tiebreaker. That too was close but saw Fagan fall to Henry West 10-8.
- Doyle's contest at fourth singles against Camden Perry faced a similar fate. Doyle took the first set 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker, but fell 6-4 in the second. During the super tiebreaker Perry took charge and won 10-5.
Up Next
The postseason awaits the Lemon and Black. They will wait to see the official pairings which haven't been released yet, but will see the Jackets head on the road in Tuesday's quarterfinal.
