(ASHLAND, Va.) – Saturday's men's tennis match was about as close as a men's tennis match could be between Randolph-Macon and Shenandoah. Thankfully it was a good day to by a YJ as the Lemon and Black came back to win.

Venue: Banks Tennis Courts

How It Happened
- The Yellow Jackets had to play catch-up as the Hornets took two of the three doubles contests. The lone point for the Lemon and Black came at second doubles with the duo of Max Hammock (So., Vienna, Va. / James Madison) and Braxton Fagan (Fr., Glen Allen, Va. / Deep Run). They were able to defeat the team of Lance Dupuis and Jonathan Clippinger 8-3.
- Max Presley (Sr., Hilton Head, S.C. / Goochland) and Mitchall Herman (Fr., Fairfax, Va. / Flint Hill) had a battle at third doubles and nearly made it 2-1 in favor of the Jackets. They fell at the end to the duo of Aidan Steinly and Brenton Baugh 8-6.
- Once in singles play, R-MC started to excel. Hammock started the rally with a pair of 6-2 set wins over Keith Orr at first singles. Max Doyle (So., Alexandria, Va. / St. John's College) followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Steinly at fourths.
- Two of the closest matches took place at fifth and third singles. Presley edged out Baugh 7-6 (7-4), 6-0. Fagan put the finishing touches on the comeback with a three-set thriller against Lance Dupuis at thirds. He won the first 6-2, dropped the second 6-2, and came back to win the third 6-4.
- Sixth singles between Herman and Will Sides also went the distance with the same scores as Fagan/Dupuis, but Herman was on the bottom end of the decision.
