Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's basketball team returned home for a conference matchup with Guilford on Saturday afternoon in Ashland. The Yellow Jackets used the three-ball to push them to a 56-45 victory.

How it Happened:
- The game was a defensive battle early in the first, as both teams shot less than 28% from the field, but Julianna Park (Fairfax Station, Va./Davidson Day) knocked down a pair of threes to bring R-MC within one point after 10 minutes.
- The Yellow Jackets offense found its footing in the second, as a surge of points jumped R-MC ahead, thanks to another two three-pointers by Park and six points in the frame by Jane Elkins (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton). R-MC held a 32-23 lead at the break after shooting 69% from the field in the quarter.
- The third quarter was similar to the first, a defensive battle that Guilford took advantage of, and brought the deficit down to six as R-MC went 1-6 from three and 0-5 at the free throw line.
- R-MC found the bottom of the net again in the fourth. After the Quakers cut the lead to three early in the frame, the Yellow Jackets knocked down key shots and got 10 points from Catherine Kagey (Roanoke, Va./Faith Christian) in the quarter to lead R-MC to an 11-point conference win.
By the Numbers:
- R-MC shot 47% from the field and 39% from three in the game, in what was an excellent offensive performance by Park and Kagey.
- Park scored 23 points on 8-12 shooting and 6-9 from beyond the arc, posting a season high in points for the sophomore.
- Kagey finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, marking her third double-double on the season.
- Devan Conrad (Parkville, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) notched six points and six assists on the afternoon.
- Cheridan Hatfield (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) added seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals for R-MC.
