Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball team opened the season on the road in Buena Vista on Tuesday night against Southern Virginia. The Knights rode a big third quarter to grab the win over R-MC.

How it Happened:
- Randolph-Macon opened the first half firing on all cylinders, knocking down five of their first six threes of the game to grab a six-point lead after the first quarter.
- The Knights found their way back into it in the second quarter, forcing turnovers and missed shots to head into the break with a lead.
- SVU kept up the pressure, taking control in the third quarter, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 27-6 in the frame, shooting 53% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc.
- R-MC battled, outscoring the Knights in the fourth quarter despite shooting 11 less shots, as the defense held the Knights to just five field goals.
Inside the Numbers:
- R-MC shot 36.8% from beyond the arc, knocking down seven shots from the perimeter.
- The Yellow Jackets crashed the defensive glass, outrebounding the Knights 22-21 on defensive rebounds.
- Juliana Park (Fairfax Station, Va./Davidson Day) was the lone Yellow Jacket in double figures, as she totaled 13 points on 40% shooting and 44% from outside.
- Catherine Kagey (Roanoke, Va./Faith Christian) nearly had a double-double, picking up eight points and eight rebounds. She also had three assists and three steals to add to her night.
- Paige Anderson (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) was a force on the interior, blocking three shots and grabbing three boards.
