Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team had their final regular season matchup of the season on Wednesday night in a road game at Shenandoah. A pair of goals led the Yellow Jackets to an important win ahead of tournament play.

How it Happened
- The Yellow Jackets took control in the first half putting pressure on the Hornets defense, leading to a first half goal from Dylan Matheny (Greensboro, N.C./Clover Hill) on a set piece to give R-MC the lead heading into the break. Colton Howell (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) picked up the assist on the corner kick.
- Randolph-Macon fought off seven corner kicks by the Hornets to keep them scoreless in the second half.
- Bogue Cummings (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) extended the lead to two in the second half, not long after goalkeeper Zach Fontenot (Palmyra, Va./Fluvanna County) made an important save.
- The Yellow Jackets would hold onto the two-goal lead as Fontenot along with the rest of the defense provided a solid back line.
Inside the Numbers
- R-MC outshot the Hornets 13-7 overall, but shots on goal were even at 6 per side.
- Fontenot came up with six saves on the way to his third win and third shutout of the season.
- Matheny's goal was his second of the year, after last scoring on Oct. 12 in a 2-1 win against Bridgewater (Va.).
- Cummings also picked up his second goal of the season on his lone shot of the day.
- Howell's assist on Matheny's goal adds to his team-leading eight assists. That number now sits atop the ODAC as the season comes to a close.
