How It Happened
- It took just 1:54 for the Yellow Jackets to find the back of the net as Colton Howell (Sr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) scored his first goal of the year on a laser from the right side. The goal was set up on a beautiful cross by Harrison Adams (Fr., Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) from the far left side near the end line.
- After multiple chances on target, the Jackets eventually got back on the board in the 39th minute when Ramirez scored his first goal on a helper from Penny Senior (Sr., Kingston, Jamaica / Meadowbrook). Ramirez added a second just over three minutes later to give RMC a 3-0 lead at the break.
- Another fast start to the second half saw the Lemon and Black find the back of the net again. This time Connor Lorenz (Sr., Bel Air, Md. / Bel Air) was on the receiving end on a fantastic cross from Senior from the right side 77 seconds into the half.
- RMC added another pair of goals just 14 seconds apart late in the half. Landon Borum (Moseley, Va. / Clover Hill) scored the first after finding a loose ball in front of the net following a corner kick. Immediately after the restart Austin Fattizzi (Jr., Virginia Beach, Va. / Norfolk Collegiate) flicked it just inside the right post on a left-to-right cross from Teddy Westervelt (Philadelphia, Pa. / Archbishop Ryan).
- Westervelt put the finishing touches on the game in the 89th minute on an assist from Andres Garcia (Sr., Fairfax, Va. / Bishop O'Connell).
