How It Happened
- The Jackets went down early after being swept in doubles action. Max Hammock (Fr., Vienna, Va. / James Madison) and Inigo Suescun (Sr., Zizur Mayor, Spain / San Fermin Ikastola) were close in giving the Jackets a point in the section, but fell 8-6 to Colton Mullins and Vincent Oliver.
- Suescum made up for it in solo action as he made quick work of Daniel Christian at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0.
- Hammock was close to giving the Jackets a second point by splitting sets at first singles. He won the first 6-2, but fell in the second 6-3. The third set tiebreaker was a nail biter, but unfortunately Hammock fell 10-8.
- Ryan Aud (Jr., Fisherville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) and Max Presley (Jr., Manakin-Sabot, Va. / Goochland) played close matches at third and fourth singles, respectively. Aud lost the first set 6-2 before playing to a 7-5 finish in the second. Presley narrowly dropped his opening set 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker before he dropped the second 6-3.
