(ASHLAND, Va.) – A pair of first half Chazz Jones (Fr., Trenton, N.J. / Trenton Catholic) goals stood up as Randolph-Macon shutout Eastern Mennonite in ODAC men's soccer action on a damp Thursday afternoon. It's the third consecutive win for the Yellow Jackets with three games left in the regular season.

How It Happened

• The Jackets attack peppered the Royals defense with shots throughout. The majority of the pressure took place in the first half as 19 attempts were taken.
• Jones eventually found the back of the net in the 24th minute on an assist from Colton Howell (Jr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen). Howell took a run up the right side and dribbled up near the end line. He proceeded to center to Jones who crossed up the EMU keeper and slip it inside the far post.
• Jones' second score came by himself as he went with the left food this time in the 32nd minute.
• The offense continued to pressure the visitors throughout the game, but the Royals were able to come up with impressive saves to keep the score locked at 2-0.
• Anthony Ivanov (So., North Brunswick, N.J. / Immaculata) recorded the clean sheet, his second of the season and third of his career. Together he and the back line limited Eastern Mennonite to just nine shots and only two on goal.

• The Yellow Jackets outshot the Royals 30-9 with 19 shots coming in the first half.
• Corner kicks were also dominated by the hosts by a 15-1 margin.
• Jones now has four goals and one assist for nine points on the year. He's on a three-game point streak with three goals and an assist during that stretch. He's registered at least one point in every game R-MC has won this year.
• Jones currently ranks second in the ODAC in goals (4) and points.
• This is the third shutout of the season for the Jackets with a shared shutout coming at Emory & Henry. They registered four in 17 games during the 2019 campaign.
• Howell has now assisted goals in three consecutive games.
