The Basics
Score: Randolph-Macon 0, Bridgewater 0 (2OT)
Venue: Nunnally Field
Records: Randolph-Macon 7-2-2, 2-0-2 ODAC; Bridgewater 5-5-1, 1-2-1 ODAC
How It Happened
- Both teams had opportunities throughout the game with Randolph-Macon holding a slight edge offensively. Midfielders Alec Mowry (Jr., Salem, Va. / Salem) and Bogue Cummings (Jr., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) did well to halt the Eagles' advances while also transitioning the possession to the front line. As a result, the Yellow Jackets were able to outshoot the Eagles 22-14 in the game.
- The back line of Ryan Staton (Jr., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley), Elijah Lloyd (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross), Kodi Tannor (So., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian), Jake Miklovic (Sr., Alexandria, Va. / Bishop Ireton), and Harrison Adams (Fr., Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) were nearly impenetrable and limited BC's offensive opportunities. Of the visitors' 14 shots, only three were on goal.
- Adam Braithwaite (Fr., Chesterfield, Va. / Matoaca) made the three saves to record his sixth shutout of his rookie campaign. The Yellow Jackets now have seven clean sheets on the season.
- The offense created a lot of great scoring chances, but it just wasn't the Yellow Jackets' day in front of the net as crosses and corners seemed to trickle just out of reach for a connecting shot.
Inside The Numbers
- Most of the offensive chances for the Yellow Jackets took place in the second half. They were able to fire off 10 shots and generated six corner kicks.
- Corner kicks overall heavily favored RMC by a 10-2 margin.
- Yoni Ramirez (Fr., Richmond, Va. / Hermitage) led the team with five shots. Mowry added four.
For The Record
- This is the first six game unbeaten streak for the Lemon and Black since the 2017 season when they went 6-0 from September 30 through October 17.
