Box Score (ASHLAND, Va.) – Randolph-Macon came up just short in its bid to move to the semifinals as it fell to Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC Tournament on Saturday evening. The loss ends the season for the Yellow Jackets while the Marlins move on to play Lynchburg Wednesday.

How It Happened
- Randolph-Macon had the first opportunity as Chazz Jones (So., Trenton, N.J. / Trenton Catholic) took a shot just 52 seconds into the game, but the Marlins' Griffin Potter was able to come up with the save.
- Virginia Wesleyan was able to counter just a few minutes later and Nate Mitchell was able to go up the left side near the end line and fire a hard shot into the right side of the net in the fourth minute.
- From there RMC had numerous chances and outshot the Marlins by a 7-2 count in the next 16 seconds alone. However the Yellow Jackets couldn't get any on goal and went into halftime down 1-0.
- Jones and Penny Senior (Sr., Kingston, Jamaica / Meadowbrook) had an excellent chance with consecutive shots on goal in the 70th. All three were within the span of seven seconds with Potter making the save all three times.
Inside The Numbers
- The Yellow Jackets outshot the Marlins by an 18-8 margin.
- Corner kicks also heavily favored the Jackets by an 11-1 margin. Eight of those were in the first half and included a spot where RMC had four consecutive corner kicks in a minute's time, but the closest the Jackets got came on a shot off the crossbar.
- Adam Braithwaite (Fr., Chesterfield, Va. / Matoaca) made some incredible saves the rest of the way to keep the Jackets in the game. He finished with five stops on eight shots faced.
