How It Happened
- Colton Howell (Sr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) did what he does best and helped Elijah Lloyd (Jr., Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) convert a corner kick into a goal in the 16th minute.
- In the minutes following, the Yellow Jackets had two more close opportunities on set pieces from fouls just outside the box, but both free kicks were saved by Shenandoah keeper Travis Jett.
- The Yellow Jackets added another goal in the final 30 as Yoni Ramirez (Fr., Richmond, Va. / Hermitage) and Penny Senior (Sr., Kingston, Jamaica / Meadowbrook) found themselves with possession on an odd-man rush. Ramirez was able to corral a ball on the left side near the end line and caught Senior rushing up the middle for the score in the 65th minute.
- The back line of Ryan Staton (Jr., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley), Elijah Lloyd (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross), Kodi Tannor (So., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian), Alec Mowry (Jr., Salem, Va. / Salem), Jake Miklovic (Sr., Alexandria, Va. / Bishop Ireton), Max Radosavljevic (Jr., Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and Harrison Adams (Fr., Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) made it a tough night for the Hornets forwards. The Shenandoah front was limited to just six shots on the night. Only one was on goal with Adam Braithwaite (Fr., Chesterfield, Va. / Matoaca) making the save.
Inside The Numbers
- Shots favored the Yellow Jackets 10-6 in the game, but Shenandoah wasn't without opportunities. The Hornets led in the corner kicks category by a 6-4 margin.
- Senior's goal was his seventh of the season. He now has 17 points on the year and has scored in consecutive games.
- Howell now has seven assists on the season. Five of them have come in the last seven games.
- Braithwaite's incredible rookie campaign continues as he recorded his eighth clean sheet of the season. That puts him in a tie for seventh in the nation.
For The Record

- This is the second consecutive season that the Yellow Jackets have earned the No. 3 seed for the ODAC tournament.
