Box Score (ASHLAND, Va.) – Randolph-Macon picked up an important result against Virginia Wesleyan in ODAC men's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets pushed their unbeaten streak to nine while handing the Marlins their first defeat in conference play in doing so. VWU was also riding a 10-game unbeaten streak prior to today.
Both teams were tied for fourth place entering the day. With the win, the Yellow Jackets have 15 points and clinched a spot in the postseason.

How It Happened
- Randolph-Macon put on the offensive pressure early with three early chances all on goal in the first 10 minutes, but the Marlins' Griffin Potter provided the save each time. Another trip down the field resulted in a corner kick, but Elijah Lloyd (Jr., Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) had a shot blocked.
- The Yellow Jackets eventually got on the board in the 29th minute. Kodi Tannor (So., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) did the honors and he dribbled up the middle and rolled it inside the left post.
- Virginia Wesleyan got level with a shot near the top of the box from Alex Moody with an assist by Hector Quinteros in the 37th minute.
- The Yellow Jackets struck again in the 58th minute on a set piece. Colton Howell (Sr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) took the free kick from about 30 yards out, and true to form, placed it perfectly for Alec Mowry (Jr., Salem, Va. / Salem) to flick to the upper left 90 on a header.
Inside The Numbers
- Adam Braithwaite (Fr., Chesterfield, Va. / Matoaca) recorded the win and made four saves on 14 shots faced. Shots were fairly even with RMC on the top end of a 15-14 margin.
- Corner kicks favored Virginia Wesleyan by a 4-3 count.
- Tannor's goal was his second in as many games and the third of his career.
- Mowry's goal was the first of his career. It's the second time he's reached the scoring column after recording an assist against Mary Baldwin.
- Howell tallied his sixth assist of the season. He now has four in his last five games.
