Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy) had a double-double in the second half with 15 points and 12 rebounds, as part of her 22-point, 18-rebound effort, as the Randolph-Macon women's basketball team closed the game on a 33-7 run over the final 14:30 in posting a 71-56 win over Washington and Lee on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:
- A layup by junior Becca Arrington (Amelia, Va./Amelia Academy) and a follow by Williams gave the Yellow Jackets an early 4-2 edge. The Generals used a 10-2 run to take a 12-6 lead with 3:15 remaining in the first quarter. Layups by Arrington, sophomore Cheridan Hatfield (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) and senior Michal Ross (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) tied the game at 12-12 with 57 seconds left. W&L would have the final two baskets of the period to take a 16-12 advantage after one quarter.
- The Generals had the first five points of the second period before a three-point play by Williams made it 21-15 with 8:42 remaining. A layup by Arrington pulled R-MC with four at 21-17 with 7:30 left. W&L pushed the advantage to eight before buckets by senior Charlotte Woods (Richmond, Va./Trinity) and Williams made it 25-21 with 4:30 remaining. The Generals had a 10-2 spurt to go up 35-23 with 30 seconds left before a late trey by freshman Haley Pasqualone (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) made it 35-26 at the break. Williams had seven points and Arrington added six for the home team.
- Arrington had 10 of R-MC's first 12 points in the third quarter as the Yellow Jackets pulled within six at 44-38 midway through the period. Five points by the Generals extended their lead to 11 at 49-38 with 4:30 remaining. Williams had seven points as R-MC closed the period on an 11-1 run to trail 50-49.
- The Yellow Jackets scored 15 of the first 16 points in the fourth quarter, making it a 26-2 run over the two periods, as R-MC took a 64-51 lead with 4:25 left. Ross had six of R-MC's 15 points. W&L went more than 10 minutes between field goals. A bucket in the paint by Ross gave the Yellow Jackets a 70-54 advantage with two minutes remaining. R-MC would hold on for the 71-56 victory.
By The Numbers:
- R-MC had three score in double figures. Along with the 22 by Williams, Arrington finished with 16 and Ross added 10.
- Sophomore Cheridan Hatfield (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) paced the victors with eight assists, matching her season high.
- The R-MC defense forced 23 W&L turnovers, while the Yellow Jackets committed just 10. R-MC had a 29-6 advantage in points off turnovers.
- The Yellow Jackets had a 46-26 edge in points in the paint, as well as 17-2 on second-chance points.
