ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon Men's Tennis topped a co-ed Marymount Saints team in its inaugural match in a non-conference meeting Friday afternoon. R-MC earned the win with tight matches in doubles from sophomore Ryan Aud (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) and freshman Jake Ferner (Wilmington, N.C. / Hoggard) as well as sweeps in singles from juniors Dani Recarte (Madrid, Spain / Wakefield School) and Alex Hein (Windermere, Fla. / Windermere Preparatory School).

Doubles
- In doubles play, seniors Jack Aprahamian (Richmond, Va. / Trinity) and Luke Pratson (Leonardtown, Md. / St. Mary's Ryken) earned a win by default at the #3 flight as Marymount was not able to provide players.
- At the #2 Flight, Hein alongside fellow junior Erik Moulton (Yorktown, Va./York) were able to dispatch opponents Brecht Chamuleau and Ana Schneider-Jerez 8-4.
- Ferner and Aud went toe-to-toe with Dorian Guiot and Neal Devkaran at #1 Doubles. The Yellow Jacket duo had the early lead before Guiot and Devkaran came storming back, forcing a tiebreaker. The Randolph-Macon duo was able to overcome the late run however, winning the tiebreak 7-3 and putting R-MC ahead 3-0 coming out of doubles play.
Singles
- In singles play, Aprahamian again won by default as Marymount could not provide a #6 Singles player.
- Hein swept his opponent Devkaran at #2 Singles. Hein won 6-0, 6-0.
- Recarte also earned a sweep, his second of the season. He defeated Roncs Etame-Ese in a 6-0, 6-0 decision at #5 Singles. The two sweeps secured R-MC's match victory.
- Aud battled with Schneider-Jerez at #4 Singles for a few more games, but secured the match win 6-3, 6-3.
- Guiot was able to best Ferner 6-4, 6-3 at #1 Singles.
- Chamuleau bested Moulton 6-4, 6-1 at #3 Singles.

The Men's Tennis team will retake the court alongside the Women's Tennis team tomorrow at Washington College. Both matches begin at 1:00 PM in Chestertown.
