Sophomore Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin) and freshman Erik Moulton (Yorktown, Va. / York) were able to take three games from VWU's Paul Gladstone and Michael Portela, but the Marlin #2 duo still secured the win 8-3.

Junior Jacob Haines (Springfield, Va. / West Springfield) and sophomore Jack Aprahamian (Richmond, Va. / Trinity) got Randolph-Macon's first win of the afternoon with a #3 doubles win 8-6 over VWU's Anthony Wilson and Andreas Combos.

R-MC got a second win when Sarver defeated Combos in #2 singles 6-2, 6-1.

But VWU won down the rest of the lineup. Haines was defeated by Gladstone in #1 singles 7-6, 6-4.

In #3 singles, Hein ran into trouble with Gunther, losing 7-5, 6-1. In #4 singles, Moulton was defeated by Perry 6-4, 6-1.
