WINCHESTER, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's tennis team notched a 9-0 ODAC victory at Shenandoah on Friday afternoon to win its seventh straight match.
The Yellow Jackets are 7-1 overall and 3-1 in conference matches.
Senior John Adam (Vienna, Va./James Madison) teamed with sophomore Baxter Carter (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) to win 8-3 at No. 1 Doubles. Adam posted a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 1 Singles, while Carter had a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 Singles.
Senior Tom Lewis (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) and junior Alex Curnow (Culpeper, Va./Midlothian) combined to win 8-2 at No. 2 Doubles. Lewis won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 Singles, while Curnow battled to a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 5 Singles.
Freshman Jacob Haines (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) joined junior Pablo Bordas (Caracas, Venezuela/Briar Woods) to record an 8-3 win at No. 3 Doubles. Haines had a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3 Singles.
Junior Stuart McCroskey (Newport News, Va./Menchville) dominated at No. 6 Singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, April 6, with a home match against Virginia Union.
