LYNCHBURG, Va. – Sophomore Baxter Carter (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) won all but three games in singles and doubles as the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory at Lynchburg in an ODAC match Wednesday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets won their sixth straight match to raise their record to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in ODAC play.
Carter won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4 Singles. He teamed with senior John Adam (Vienna, Va./James Madison) for an 8-0 victory at No. 1 Doubles. Adam recorded a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at No. 1 Singles.
Senior Tom Lewis (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 Singles. He and junior Alex Curnow (Culpeper, Va./Midlothian) won 8-4 at No. 2 Doubles. Curnow registered a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 5 Singles.
Freshman Jacob Haines (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) had a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 Singles. He and junior Pablo Bordas (Caracas, Venezuela/Briar Woods) had a 9-8 victory at No. 3 Doubles.
Junior Stuart McCroskey (Newport News, Va./Menchville) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 Singles.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Friday, March 25, with a 4:15 p.m. ODAC match at Shenandoah.
