ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Tom Lewis (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) pulled out a win at No. 6 singles as the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Washington and Lee at the Banks Tennis Center.
Lewis lost 6-4 in the first set, but rebounded to take the second 6-3 and win the third-set tie-breaker 10-5.
Three other singles matches went to third-set tie-breakers: senior Ira Usry (Columbia, S.C./Hammond) at No. 3, junior John Adam (Vienna, Va./James Madison) at No. 4 and sophomore Alex Curnow (Culpeper, Va./Midlothian) at No. 5.
Randolph-Macon travels to Harford Community College on Friday, March 13.
