NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Junior Andrew Oakes (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland) and freshman Ryan White (Kilkeel, Northern Ireland) both tallied goals as Randolph-Macon dropped a 4-2 decision to Christopher Newport Friday evening.

Oakes scored in the 28th minute on an assist by freshman Jacob McHugh (Churchville, Md.) to give the Yellow Jackets (0-1) a 1-0 lead at intermission.

The Captains (1-0) recorded the first three goals of the second half to take a 3-1 advantage. White registered an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute to make it a one-goal game before CNU put it away with a goal in the 75th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper C.J. Montalbano (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) recorded seven saves for the Yellow Jackets.

R-MC remains in Newport News to face Lebanon Valley on Saturday, August 30 at 5 p.m.
