Box Score ROANOKE, Va. — Junior Hannah Livermon (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) scored 22 points, had four rebounds and four steals as the Randolph-Macon women's basketball team remained undefeated and claimed its first ODAC victory of the season in an 85-54 win over Hollins Tuesday night.
Junior Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Senior Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) chipped in 19 points and four assists for the Yellow Jackets (5-0, 1-0 ODAC).
The Yellow Jackets (5-0, ODAC 1-0) opened up an early four-point lead with a three-pointer by Parsons bringing the score to 6-2 at the 16:50 mark. Hollins (2-3, 0-1 ODAC) scored the next five points to bring the score to 7-6 to take its only lead of the game with 16:17 remaining in the first half. After Hollins stretched its advantage to three points, Parsons nailed a trey to tie the score 11-11 with 12:58 remaining. R-MC scored the next seven points to take an 18-11 lead with 9:41 left until halftime. With 2:40 remaining, Livermon hit from behind the arc to give the Yellow Jackets a 17-point lead 34-17. R-MC scored nine of the next 13 points to take a 43-21 lead at halftime.
An early basket in the second half by senior Caroline Young (Burke, VA / Lake Braddock) gave R-MC a 24-point lead with 19:44 remaining. A jumper by Parsons at 17:46 brought the score 49-23, giving the Yellow Jackets a 26-point advantage. Hollins battled back and cut R-MC's lead to 14 points at the 11:24 mark. Livermon hit a trey with 7:26 remaining to stretch the Yellow Jackets' lead to 20 points. Freshman Teal Reynolds (Sterling, VA /Potomac Falls) nailed a three-pointer at the 3:25 mark to expand the lead to 23 points. Sophomore Samm Prugh (Frederick, MD / Urbanna) came off the bench and scored a trey with 1:02 remaining to bring the score to 85-54.
The Yellow Jackets return home on Tuesday, December 2 at 7:00 for another ODAC contest against Eastern Mennonite.
