ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Men's Tennis picked up wins in all nine contests against Southern Virginia Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets return to action Wednesday, April 3rd when they travel to Loyola (Md.) for a 3:00 match.
In a matchup of the top doubles pair, R-MC's Connor Hoerr and Michael Baxter defeated Pradeep Ravisankar and Brian Blocher 8-3. John Adam and Richard Brock teamed up for an 8-0 shutout victory while Ira Usry and Tom Lewis rounded out the doubles sweep by winning an 8-1 decision.
The Yellow Jackets controlled all six singles contests with Baxter taking the top matchup 6-1, 7-5. After dropping the first set, the freshman Adam rallied to take the No. 2 singles match 1-6, 6-3, 10-5.
Lewis competed in the No. 3 singles spot and won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, while Ira Ursy earned a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4.
Brock and Dylan Scott both picked up singles wins 6-0, 6-1 to complete Randolph-Macon's shutout of Southern Virginia.
