ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Men's Tennis (3-2 / 1-2 ODAC) picked up their first ODAC victory of the season with an 8-1 win over Shenandoah University Tuesday afternoon at the Banks Tennis Complex.
In Men's doubles action, Randolph-Macon swept all three matchups. Connor Hoerr and Michael Baxter shut out their opponent 8-0 as did the doubles pair of Ira Usry and John Adam. Tom Lewis and Jody Cox picked up an 8-2 victory to round out doubles play.
Randolph-Macon Men's Tennis picked up victories in all of the top five matchups. Hoerr won in the No.1 match up 6-1, 6-1 over Steven Baker. Baxter won in a tie breaker set 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) while Usry scored a 6-0, 6-3, straight sets victory.
Singles wins by John Adam (6-1, 6-3) and Tom Lewis (6-2, 7-6) rounded out the 8-1 victory for the Yellow Jackets.
R-MC Men's Tennis returns to action Friday, March 15th when they travel to Washington and Lee for a 4:00 match.
