Ashland, VA -- The Roanoke Men's Tennis team took advantage of four singles victories to capture a 5-4 victory over the Yellow Jackets. R-MC now falls to 0-2 on the season, while the Maroons improve to 2-0.
The Yellow Jackets started off the day strong, winning two doubles matches 8-6. Connor Hoerr and Michael Baxter teamed up first at the number one spot, while Tom Lewis and Jody Cox played third.
Ira Usry picked up the first singles win for R-MC, defeating Roanoke's Lewis Young, 7-5, 6-2. John Adam won his singles match at the four spot, 5-7, 6-5, 6-2.
The Roanoke women's team also defeated the Yellow Jackets 8-0. R-MC Women's Tennis falls to 1-1 on the season.
The men and women will be back in action on February 27th when they play host to Virginia Union at 3:00 p.m.
