Box Score DANVILLE, VA – Randolph-Macon Men's Soccer tied Averett , 1-1, in two overtimes Wednesday afternoon in Danville. Andrew Oakes got the one goal for the Yellow Jackets in the match.
AU (1-2-2) got on the board in the 14th minute on a goal by Richard Bjornander off a rebound of a free-kick from Kevin Vigebo.
R-MC (0-3-2) responded five minutes later when Oakes headed a ball off a cross from Tyler Dorr to even the score at 1-1.
The match remained deadlocked through the final 71 minutes of regulation and two 10 minute overtimes.
The Cougars outshot the Jackets 25-12 and held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Randolph-Macon opens ODAC play on Saturday when it travels to Roanoke for a 6:00 p.m. match.
