ASHLAND, Va--- R-MC defeated Roanoke, 6-3 in ODAC action Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-7 overall, 2-4 in the ODAC, while the Maroons dropped to 4-10 on the season, 3-4 in the conference.
Mederick Ceril won his 10th straight singles match, topping James Lee, 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 singles action. His only loss came to Division I George Mason.
Connor Hoerr and Ira Usry each won their singles matches and Joe Cox defeated Matt Osman in No. 6 singles to give R-MC the early advantage.
Ceril and Chandler Weston earned the win in No. 1 doubles play with an 8-2 win and Hoerr and Usry took the victory in No. 2 doubles.
The Yellow Jackets return to action when they play host to Lynchburg. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
