HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va--- Randolph-Macon College topped Hampden-Sydney, 5-4 in ODAC men's tennis action Monday afternoon in a match that lasted just shy of four hours.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 8-7 overall, 5-4 in the ODAC, while the Tigers dropped to 5-6 on the year, 4-4 in conference play.
R-MC ended the regular season on a four-match winning streak and clinched the fifth seed in the ODAC Tournament.
Mederick Ceril defeated Kevin Calhoun , 6-2, 6-4 to earn his 13th straight #1 singles victory. Ceril is undefeated in ODAC play, finishing 9-0 in the conference.
Ira Usry picked up the win in No. 4 singles, defeating Houghton Flanagan, 6-2, 7-6,7-4. Frank Donnelly battled back from falling behind a set to win in No. 5 singles and Jody Cox cruised by Franklin Bowers, 6-2, 6-2.
Connor Hoerr and Usry partnered up to edge Barrett Polan and Zack King, 9-7 in No. 2 doubles.
The Yellow Jackets will take on Emory & Henry in the fourth seed in the ODAC Tournament later this month.
