ASHLAND, Va--- Randolph-Macon College Men's Tennis split a dual match with Connecticut College and Ferrum Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets fell to CC, 6-3 and topped Ferrum, 9-0. R-MC improved to 3-5 overall.
Against Connecticut College, Randolph-Macon College picked up wins in No. 1 singles, No. 5 singles, and No. 6 singles. Mederick Ceril topped George Jeff Weisberger in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3. Frank Donnelly defeated Huen Nguyen in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 7-5 and Joe Cox beat Jeremy Bader, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.
In the latter match with Ferrum in each event, winning 9-0. In doubles action, Ceril and Chandler Weston picked defeated Chris Miller and Michael Marsh, 8-1 in #1 doubles. Connor Hoerr and Ira Usry cruised by Seth Griffin and Jacob Bivens, 8-0 in #2 doubles and Donnely and Cox partnered to win No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
In singles action, Ceril, Hoerr, Usry, Donelly, Cox and Brian Sommer all picked up wins to complete the sweep.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Wednesday, March 17th when they play host to Bridgewater. The match is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start.
