Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Cardinal's forward Katarina Owunna scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Catholic defeated Randolph-Macon 74-49 in the first game of the 2012 R-MC Tip-Off Classic sponsored by Riesbeck Contracting.
Randolph-Macon (0-1) freshmen Hannah Livermon and Nicole Freeman paced the Yellow Jacket offense, scoring in double-digits with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Livermon made a team-high three, three-pointers and was 5-for-7 from the floor in her collegiate debut.
Fellow freshman Katie Anderson was just shy of posting a double-double, finishing the game with nine points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Jill Woerner (14), Jenny McGann (13), Josephine Migash (12), and Kelli Josephsen (10) each scored in double-digits for CUA (1-0). Woerner and Josephsen each pulled in eight rebounds as well.
Emily Grabiak led the Cardinals defense with four steals on the evening.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. as they take on No. 13 Mary Washington in the finale of the classic.
