Box Score ASHLAND, VA--- Randolph-Macon topped Bridgewater, 2-1 Saturday afternoon in ODAC-action. The men improved to 2-2-1, 1-0-1 in the conference, while the Eagles fell to 3-4, 0-1 in ODAC-play.
R-MC defeated BC for the third consecutive time, dating back to 2009. The win was the first conference victory of the year for the Yellow Jackets.
Bridgewater took an early lead when Kevin Gorman scored midway through the first period. The Eagles maintained the lead throughout the first half and for much of the second stanza.
With just over 15 minutes to play BC was called for a penalty in the box, awarding R-MC a penalty shot to tie the game. Rodrigo Walsh took the PK and placed it just over the outstretched arms of the keeper in the upper left corner to even the score.
Three minutes later, Jared Bouis found the back of the net on a running header off a corner from Walsh for the eventual game-winner. Walsh now leads the team with four points on the season.
Bridgewater outshot Randolph-Macon, 14-11 on the afternoon including a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. However, the Yellow Jackets held an 8-7 advantage in shots in the second period.
Matty Rocawich picked up his second victory of the season, recording four saves on the afternoon. Travis Morris took the loss in net for the Eagles, turning away three shorts on the day.
R-MC returns to action Wednesday September 21st, when they travel to Lynchburg College to take on the Hornets. Kick-off is set for a 4:00 p.m. start.
