Box Score Fueled by a career-high 26 points from Maggie Roy and Molly Brown's career-high tying 19, Randolph-Macon advanced to the finals of the 2011 ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament with a 79-66 victory over Washington and Lee.
R-MC, which will take on Roanoke in the tournament championship at 1:00 p.m. in Salem, improves to 21-6 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets also got 12 points from Taylor Wieczorek, while Jordan Cantrell chipped in with eight points off the bench for R-MC. Brown grabbed nine rebounds and Wieczorek grabbed seven boards to help R-MC to a 36-31 edge on the glass.
Randolph-Macon made 51% shots from field, making 30-of-58 shots from the floor and 7-for-16 beyond the arc.
With the game tied 11-11 at the 8:42 mark of the firt half, Brown sunk a free throw and knocked down a trifecta to ignite a 10-0 Randolph-Macon run that ended with a Roy three two and a half minutes later.
A Roy jumper put the Yellow Jackets up 12 with 48 seconds to go but the Generals responded with a Meg Ingram three to cut the R-MC advantage to 34-25 heading into halftime.
Randolph-Macon extended their lead to 15 with 12:57 to play when Brown knocked down another shot from beyond the arc.
Washington and Lee rallied for four straight points to pull within nine on a Kari Pfannenstein three but the Jackets scored the next five to go up 67-53 at the 4:03 mark.
R-MC led by a double digit margin for the remainder of the contest, finishing for a 79-66 victory and earning a berth in the ODAC Tournament Championship game.
