Box Score R-MC Junior Taylor Wieczorek scored a career high 21 points and set another career mark with 19 rebounds as Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball downed Eastern Mennonite 82-58 in Ashland Tuesday.
Jillian Asay knocked down a three with 13:50 to go in the first to cap a 21-4 opening run for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon held Eastern Mennonite to just 6-of-35 shooting in the first half and a Katie Williams layup with 31 seconds left in the half sent R-MC to the locker room with a 39-17 advantage.
Wieczorek, who had a double-double at halftime, scored the Yellow Jackets' first seven points of the second half to extend the lead to 46-22.
Marla Young pulled EMU within 20 when she knocked down a three with 12:54 on the clock but a Maggie Roy jumper three and a half minutes later gave R-MC a 66-38 advantage.
Both teams traded baskets over the final nine minutes before Randolph-Macon finished with an 82-58 win.
Wieczorek led four Yellow Jackets in double figures with a career high 21 points and 19 rebounds. Roy chipped in with 13 points and Molly Brown contributed with 12 points and seven rebounds. Williams finished with 10 points, five boards and four assists.
R-MC shot 49.3% from the field including a 7-for-18 mark from three and held a 47-38 rebounding edge.
EMU was led offensively by Sara Lamneck who scored 13 points and pulled in eight rebounds.
Randolph-Macon now begins a stretch of four ODAC road games starting Friday, February 4th with a 7:00 pm game at Guilford College.
